August Meeting Update
Dianne Lindsay and Cordia Sammeth
The August 12th meeting at Willard and Merita Koehn's home included a tour of their garden and a lively barter session.
Grants Committee Concerns
The grant committee proposed an application and process for handling the Barter Hour grants. They are working on a logo and a few details. They are concerned that services are difficult to get and that we need to improve on this before giving a community grant. Members who do not return calls or are unable to do the services they list in the directory are causing some discouragement. Everyone is feeling too busy these days—too much to do and not enough time. It is so easy to overbook. It is important to be realistic about your availablilty and list only what you can do.
Follow Through!
If you find yourself avoiding a Barter Hour contact because you can't do it, please return the call and then call Cordia 426-1468 or Sherrill at 454-1572 and remove the things you don't have time for or change your listing. The success of this effort depends on the value of bartering. It will quickly lose its value when members don't follow through with what they promise.
Burdock and Flower Seeds Available
On a lighter note, Elizabeth Ratzlaff has burdock available, "you dig em." Bob Wallace has flower seeds.

The membership for the Farmer's Market has been paid. Call Julsie Olague and go sell some veggies, Wednesday and Saturdays.
