February Meeting Update

Dianne Lindsay, Meetings Coordinator

February's meeting on the 5th was a productive one, with several topics discussed. Four work groups found space and worked on:

I've also included two reminders which were not part of the meeting but that I feel are important:

February's Meeting in More Detail:

Grants

This group discussed some of the issues that might be stumbling blocks, like how to choose grant recipients. This discussion will continue.

Jobs and payroll

This issue was discussed by a steering committee who looked over the proposal. They made a few suggestions and recommended it to the membership. It was accepted with 100 % approval as follows:

New Member Contest

This committe continued the work from the January group. There will be forms, brochures and signs for businesses ready for this contest starting date of April 1st. We will need help preparing the signs that Lucy Trujillo has made. Please contact Dianne if you want to help - we need five to 10 people.

Local Food Brochure

This group has a rough draft brochure. They are looking for names of people who grow food to sell or share. Bring names to the meeting if you know someone who has any locally grown food products that people can buy locally.

Albert Lucero of Ludi's Market has expressed interest in joining in April or May. Since he is interested in knowing what people want to buy that can't be found in Las Vegas, I volunteered to give him a list from our members of what they would like to see available. Please call or e-mail to Dianne any grocery items that you would buy in Santa Fe. Ludi's might be able to get them for us.

One of our members, Lee Einer, has started a "Green Page" every other Friday in the Optic. Way to go Lee! Check it out, or better yet, submit an article.

Renewal dues

Thank you to all who have mailed them in. There are some members who haven't, you know who you are.

Directories

Directories are current on the web site. For paper copies, we will charge $2.50 to cover costs. Let Cordia know if you want a paper copy.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 5th at Mary Ann's Famous Burritos, 528 Grand, at 6 pm. A Potluck Dinner will first and continue through the meeting starting at 6:30, followed by socializing and trading. Bring something to trade. The meeting agenda will include discussions on the new member contest rules, grants and brochures.
